Code of Ethics for the Use of go~mus Software

go~mus is a software solution for the responsible management of visitors in museums and other cultural institutions, primarily public facilities. In alignment with the principles of education, engagement, preservation, and research, go~mus promotes a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment, upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and complying with legal regulations. The responsible use of the software is therefore crucial for protecting and promoting these core values.
Our ethical principles commit us and our clients to refrain from using go~mus software for activities that:
- Violate applicable laws, regulations, or ordinances, thereby endangering the community’s safety and integrity, especially concerning:
- (a) illegal drugs, steroids, unlawful substances, or other products that could compromise visitor safety,
- (b) the distribution or provision of drug paraphernalia,
- (c) the sale of tobacco products,
- (d) providing or disseminating items that encourage, instruct, or support unlawful behavior,
- (e) the trade of stolen or unlawfully acquired goods, including digital or virtual products,
- (f) the promotion of hate, violence, discrimination, or criminal activities,
- (g) the dissemination or use of content aimed at harming others,
- (h) violations of copyrights, trademarks, personal rights, or other legal protections,
- (i) sexually-oriented content or services incompatible with the values of public institutions,
- (j) the distribution of ammunition, weapons, or their accessories,
- (k) certain weapons subject to special regulations,
- (l) the promotion, depiction, endorsement, or distortion of animal suffering,
- (m) the promotion, depiction, endorsement, or distortion of environmental destruction or pollution, outside of documentary purposes,
- (n) the promotion of misinformation or populist views.
- Undermine personal and social responsibility by
- (a) unlawfully accessing third-party personal data,
- (b) promoting gambling, pyramid schemes, or similar programs that promise unfair financial gains,
- (c) involving financial programs designed to evade financial obligations,
- (d) relating to products or services unavailable at the time of use,
- (e) being processed by other providers on behalf of users, unless contractually defined and approved by Giant Monkey,
- (f) the sale of travelers’ checks or money orders,
- (g) including unethical or unauthorized financial transactions,
- (h) enhancing creditworthiness or handling debt without a legitimate legal basis,
- (i) encompassing bribery or corruption in any form.
Additional Restrictions:
go~mus must not be used for activities that pose a high risk of fraudulent behavior as defined by relevant authorities. Any activities requiring authorization may only be conducted with the necessary permissions.
This policy ensures a responsible, ethical, and legally compliant use of go~mus and supports museums and public institutions in their commitment to education and cultural engagement in a secure and respectful environment.
